Bjarne Larsen is an exceptional peptide chemist who has been synthesizing peptides and peptidomimetics for therapeutic applications in many different systems for years.  He is a co-founder of Zealand Pharma, but continues to work in the lab.  In his seminar he will present an overview of the strategies employed in Pharma to take a discovery in basic science and systematically turn it into a lead drug, and proceed through human trails.  In the process, he will also discuss what is needed to convert an interesting chemical into an effective drug.
