Vice President for Research Opens Office of Sponsored Programs at UTSA Downtown Campus

New office will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays

To better serve UTSA’s faculty and staff, the Office of the Vice President for Research (VPR) opened a new Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) at the UTSA Downtown Campus.  The OSP office is open to researchers two full days each week.

The new OSP office is located at UTSA’s Downtown Campus in The Frio Street Building in Room 4.510.  It will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and is accessible by phone at x2912.

“With tight application deadlines and increased reporting requirements for competitive research funding, it is extremely important that researchers at the downtown campus have access to the research support services they need to manage their existing grants and new grant applications,” said Marianne Woods, senior associate vice president for sponsored programs.  “We strongly encourage downtown researchers to visit our new office for pre and post-award assistance.”

OSP Pre-award Specialist Angelika Rocha will staff the new downtown office on Mondays.  Post-award Specialist Angela Cooke will staff the office on Wednesdays.

UTSA’s OSP assists the entire UTSA community in identifying and securing external funding for sponsored programs and collaborations.  The office’s services include reviewing, negotiating, approving, submitting and managing proposals and the establishment of awards on behalf of UTSA, in accordance with all applicable policies and regulations.
